SHADOWS IN FLIGHT by Orson Scott Card. Sequel to Shadow of the Giant. Bean and his three 6 year old children. Short quick read. Get it from the library not really worth the purchase price. link

PERFECT PEOPLE by Peter James. A stand alone. Not a mystery. Designer children and the consequences. Not to all tastes. Quite a coincidence that it has some similarity to the book above. Not going to be to every taste. link

RULES OF CIVILITY by Amor Towles. An outstanding tale. Well written, good characters, good pace. This one is worth reading. ( Mar 14 )
"The New York Times" bestselling novel that "enchants on first reading
and only improves on the second" ("The Philadelphia Inquirer")This
sophisticated and entertaining first novel presents the story of a young
woman whose life is on the brink of transformation. On the last night
of 1937, twenty-five-year-old Katey Kontent is in a second-rate
Greenwich Village jazz bar when Tinker Grey, a handsome banker, happens
to sit down at the neighboring table. This chance encounter and its
startling consequences propel Katey on a year-long journey into the
upper echelons of New York society--where she will have little to rely
upon other than a bracing wit and her own brand of cool nerve. With its
sparkling depiction of New York's social strata, its intricate imagery
and themes, and its immensely appealing characters, "Rules of Civility"
won the hearts of readers and critics alike.

BIRTHDAYS FOR THE DEAD by Stuart MacBride. Gritty standalone. There are times you feel like laughing but it really is as unsettling as all his novels. I for one would like to see the main characters again. ( Mar 17 ) link

SHADOWS IN THE STREET by Susan Hill. Took me awhile to get into this one but it picked up after the first few chapters. Case of burn out I think on one character. Only one more to go before I am up to date on the series. ( Mar 20 ) link
